Within each category or search result, entries list in the order Name within Local within Position Enhancement. This means that those who have paid for a position enhancement will list before any others (see Prominence for this and other options). After this local businesses will list before any national chains. Then the list is shown alphabetically.

There are 3 levels of enhanced size, one selection from a range of 12 colours and 9 levels of position. The charge for each unit of these is £1 per month or £10 per year (plus Vat).

There is a one off cost for this of £30 (plus Vat). 

You should use this if you already have an effective web site and want to increase the volume of traffic. This is mainly the domain of large companies.

Use your page to show what you do to the best effect. Treat it like an online full colour brochure; it saves you having to send out the same information by post. Include any short term special offers.

Although this can be updated as often as you wish, it is aimed at businesses with fairly static information. It can contain logos of trade and professional organisations. Suitable for trades people, professionals, service providers and for shops who are not ready for a full-blown web presence. 

As a bonus you also get 1 level of prominence (worth £10 per annum) per page - use it to draw attention to your directory entry.

The software to do this can be installed at your site, for you to use directly and for us to visit as necessary. We will set it up for you. It is simple to use and requires no programming skills. You can use this software to update your web site as often as you wish, hourly if you want. 

Alternatively we can run the software for you at our offices, where we will work to your instructions, and where you can visit us as required. 

The cost of this is £100 per month or £1000 per year (plus Vat).

The software is developed by Ardeo PLC, an Internet solutions company based in The City of London. With a vast amount of cutting edge Internet experience gained in developing secure online banking systems, they are ideally placed to provide a reliable E-Commerce package.

This is not suitable for all businesses. You should be offering a product or service that can be fully specified online and that can be delivered by a convenient means (down the telephone line is the ideal). You can also use it to enable people to book and pay in advance for a particular product or service. If your main aim is to encourage prospective customers to visit you, then the Online Store is sufficient.

TERMS OF SERVICE bhlocal.com Ltd provides World Wide Web page hosting. bhlocal.com Ltd reserves the right to suspend or cancel a Customer's access to any or all services provided by bhlocal.com Ltd when bhlocal.com Ltd decides that the account has been inappropriately used or otherwise. 

DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION When you register a .uk domain name you are also entering into a contract with bhlocal.com Ltd and Nominet and you agree to their terms and conditions. This is a separate contract to any you may have with a third party for the provision of internet services. Please read before you register a .uk domain name.

When you register any other domain name (e.g. .com, .biz) you are entering into an agreement with bhlocal.com Ltd and Tucows.com Co and you agree to their terms and conditions. This is a separate contract to any you may have with a third party for the provision of internet services. Please read before you register a non .uk domain name.

You are also agreeing to the ICANN Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy. Please read before you register your domain name.

SERVER USE Personal accounts are to be used by the primary owner only. Personal account holders are not permitted resell, store or give away web-hosting services of their web site to other parties. Web hosting services are defined as allowing a separate, third party to host content on the owner's web site. Exceptions to this include ad banners, classified ads, and personal ads. bhlocal.com Ltd reserves the right to refuse service and /or access to its servers to anyone. bhlocal.com Ltd do not allow any of the following content to be stored on its servers: Illegal Material - This includes copyrighted works, commercial audio, video, or music files, and any material in violation of any Federal, State or Local regulation. Adult Material - Includes all pornography, erotic images, or otherwise lewd or obscene content. The designation of ""adult material"" is left entirely to the discretion of bhlocal.com Ltd. Warez - Includes pirated software, ROMS, emulators, phreaking, hacking, password cracking. IP spoofing, etc., and encrypting of any of the above. Also includes any sites which provide ""links to"" or ""how to"" information about such material. 

UNLIMITED USE POLICY High bandwidth usage: bhlocal.com Ltd offers an unlimited use policy by maintaining very large ratios of bandwidth per Customer. In rare cases, bhlocal.com Ltd may find a Customer to be using server resources to such an extent that he or she may jeopardize server performance and resources for other Customers. In such instances, bhlocal.com Ltd reserves the right to impose the High Resource User Policy for the consideration of all Customers. 

HIGH RESOURCE USER POLICY Resources are defined as bandwidth and/or processor utilization. bhlocal.com Ltd may implement the following policy to its sole discretion: When a web site is found to be monopolising the resources available bhlocal.com Ltd reserves the right to suspend that site immediately. This policy is only implemented in extreme circumstances and is intended to prevent the misuse of our servers. 

FITNESS FOR PURPOSE It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that they are selecting the correct level of service for any product or service provided to match their requirements. All software is provided on an ""as is"" basis and bhlocal.com Ltd accepts no responsibility for any malfunction or lack of function in it. In particular it should be noted that any costs quoted do not include links to, updates from or compatibility with any software installed or to be installed by the Customer. It should also be noted that the Ardeo Plc Shop in a Box software used in both the ""online Store"" and ""online Trading"" options, and any other software packages employed, impose limits on design freedom so it can be simply applied and maintained. 

TAX All costs and charges quoted by bhlocal.com Ltd exclude Vat and other government taxes. These will be added to the cost and charges at the prevailing rate. 

PAYMENT POLICIES All accounts are set up on a prepay basis. Although bhlocal.com Ltd Ltd reserves the right to change prices of accounts or services at any time all pricing is guaranteed for the period of prepayment. Payment is due each anniversary year or month following the date the account was established. Customers will automatically be charged again at the end of their prepay period unless closure notification has already been given. In situations where the card number on file is declined bhlocal.com Ltd will immediately suspend the facility to purchase services online until the outstanding charge is processed successfully. In addition, bhlocal.com Ltd reserves the right to suspend other services until the outstanding debt is cleared. The Customer is responsible for all money owed on the account from the time it was established to the time that the Customer sends a written cancellation request. No bills or invoices will be sent by regular mail. All invoices will be sent directly to Customers via email shortly after the online purchase has been made. At this point the Customer's card will be charged automatically. All payment is in UK sterling. 

PAYMENT OPTIONS Initial orders for new products and/or services must be accompanied by a cheque covering the full payment in the case of a single charge product or service and/or the first payment in the case of any repeating charge service. In addition, Customers who agree to monthly or annual payments must complete, sign and return the standing order form taken form the bhlocal.com Ltd web site. Standing Orders will be used to settle all such repeating payments after the first payment. bhlocal.com Ltd will not provide any product or service until after any received cheques have been cleared and a completed Standing Order Form, if applicable, has been processed. 

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS bhlocal.com Ltd reserves the right to cancel the service at any time. In this event Customers will be entitled to a pro rata refund based upon the remaining period of membership. If a Customer contravenes bhlocal.com Ltd terms of service a refund will not be issued in the event of a cancellation. Customers may cancel their account at any time after a twelve month period has elapsed from commencement of the service. Any incentives offered to Customers when opening the account will also be cancelled. Customers may be given the option to purchase services which were offered as start-up incentives in the result of a cancellation. Fees charged on a prepay basis are non-refundable. Customers are not entitled to receive a refund unless the service is cancelled by bhlocal.com Ltd. In addition some accounts incur set-up fees, these charges are also non-refundable. 

INDEMNIFICATION Customer agrees that it shall defend, indemnify, save and hold bhlocal.com Ltd harmless from any and all demands, liabilities, losses, costs and claims, including reasonable attorney's fees asserted against bhlocal.com Ltd, its agents, its Customers, officers and employees, that may arise or result from any service provided or performed or agreed to be performed or any product sold by Customer, its agents, employees or assigns. Customer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless bhlocal.com Ltd against liabilities arising out of; (1) any injury to person or property caused by any products sold or otherwise distributed in connection with bhlocal.com Ltd' server; (2) any material supplied by Customer infringing or allegedly infringing on the proprietary rights of a third party; (3) copyright infringement and (4) any defective products sold to Customer from bhlocal.com Ltd' server.
